Dividend Income Update June 2022

The beginning of every month is exciting for all dividend income investors as we look back at the previous month and see how much passive dividend income our portfolios generated. No doubt, these are the best posts to write and read online as it only provides further proof that dividend investing can work over time and that anyone can create an ever growing passive income stream. Looking back at my June totals I see that my year over year progress is moving at a nice clip. Now that half of 2022 is in the books my annual dividend income picture is looking a lot clearer. With that being said, let’s take a look back at my June 2022 dividend income.

Dividend income from my taxable account totaled $1,989.76. That extra boost in June came from a special dividend paid out to shareholders of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. (LYB).

Dividends don’t lie. It’s real cash being returned to investors. With patience and consistency these results and better can be achieved. I’m excited to see what the second half of 2022 will bring. All I know for certain is that the market will definitely be higher, lower or flat come New Year’s Eve! In other words, I’ll continue with my monthly buys and slowly build up my passive income stream share by individual share and let the “experts” worry about what might happen.

Are any of these dividend stocks in your portfolio too? How was your June dividend income? Please let me know below.

Disclosure: Long all above

  1. Awesome stuff Keith! Nearly $2k in a month is huge. And that special dividend from LYB sure was nice for you. We had a special dividend from one of our holdings as well, although it wasn’t nearly as big. June was a great end to the first half of 2022 for us and I’m looking forward to the second half, although I don’t want it to get here because time moves too fast.

    • Hi JC,

After a few years of GE, BP, Kraft, YUMC, WFC and many others cutting dividends it was nice to get some extra cash from LYB. Like you I am looking forward to the second half of 2022. With half the year gone by the dividends are where they are supposed to be.

  2. Nearly $2K in June, an incredible month, DivHut. The extra boost from LYB was sweet. It reminds me of the special dividend from TROW about a year ago.
The largest dividend from June that I share with you is that from AFL – one of my long-time holdings… it’s been over 26 years since I initiated my position. AFL’s dividend raises the past 2 years have been amazing.
Another legacy holding of mine is JNJ. It appears JNJ will soon be another triple-digit dividend payer for you. Having more stocks in that club is always nice.
Well done! Keep grinding away and generating more income.

    • Hi ED,

Looks like you are doing well on your end. Impressive long time hold for AFL. It’s all about staying in the game and not getting shaken out of the market. Clearly, you already know this. Those extra boosts are always welcome. They take some of the sting off of the cuts we all experience from time to time.
