Four months down, eight more to go. Not that I’m looking to rush 2022 but time has a way of slipping by without us really noticing and before you know it the holidays and a New Year are upon us once again. Why not stay invested in the market and continue to make contributions throughout the year and take advantage of all that time whizzing by while collecting those dividends. Stay in the game no matter what the headlines read or the market does. Sure, things stink now. Markets continue to tumble, real estate is starting to crack, precious metals doing a whole lot of nothing and the crypto world has gone full bear. Panic?!? No way. I’m staying in the game as I have for many, many years already. These lows are when the real profits and income is generated in the future. We all know that when stock prices tumble, all things being equal, gives us much higher initial yields from our dividend stocks. And who doesn’t appreciate higher yield when adding new shares or reinvesting?
With May already underway it is time for all dividend income investors to look back at the previous month and see how much passive dividend income their portfolios generated. No doubt, these are the best posts to write and read online as it only provides further proof that dividend investing can work over time and that anyone can create an ever growing passive income stream. With that being said, let’s take a look back at my May 2022 totals.
Dividend income from my taxable account totaled $927.66.

Nice month DH! LEG, CAH, GSK, ITW are in my portfolio. You are 100% correct – do not give in to panic. Stay persistent! Lower prices are a buying opportunity! 🙂

Hi MDD,
I have been doing this for a while. Went through 2008/09 buying up stock every month like an idiot. Over the long haul it has proven to work out well even with those occasional dividend cuts we all experience. No need to panic.
wow nice Hut!
huge payouts from the smoke companies. I have debated pm or bti in the portfolio.
Like you said stay in the game collect the dividends and continue putting cash to work.
keep it up
cheers!

Hi passivecanadianincome,
The smoke plays were all about current yield. Not looking for any type of serious growth with those names rather good current income. I guess VZ and T are in the same boat. You know the game… invest, collect dividends and reinvest for compound action.
Fantastic! Nearly $1k in April is pretty great. I’d like to get ITW into my portfolio but am also considering IEX. Those are some huge dividends from MO and PM. MO is our largest payer and it’s been hard for me to not just keep adding to that position. I don’t think they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. Happy hunting the rest of May!

Hi JC,
MO is the stock everyone loves to hate. Hard to argue about its performance going back multiple decades though. ITW was one of my first dividend stocks I ever bought. One of those silent names you don’t hear much about but is very consistent in terms of dividend payouts and growth.
