With July ending soon and the markets on an uptrend, I decided to add to some of my lagging existing positions. I couldn’t resist some juicy yields, as a result of stock price declines, and decided to deploy a small amount of cash for June and July. Some of you have been unimpressed with my recent buys because I am deploying relatively small amounts of cash. That’s OK. This is how I invest. My preferred method has always been to dollar cost average into stocks. I nibble here and there every month no matter the market conditions. Sometimes my dollars buy me quite a few shares, other times the same amount buys me less. Either way, I am building up my positions and slowly increasing my passive income stream. With that being said here are my buys for June and July:
Date | Symbol | Description | Quantity | Amount |
---|---|---|---|---|
06/16/2023 | UGI | U G I CORP | 4 | -$111.08 |
06/16/2023 | LEG | LEGGETT & PLATT INC | 4 | -$124.42 |
07/05/2023 | LEG | LEGGETT & PLATT INC | 7 | -$208.46 |
07/05/2023 | UGI | U G I CORP | 7 | -$189.70 |
07/06/2023 | UGI | U G I CORP | 4 | -$105.91 |
07/06/2023 | LEG | LEGGETT & PLATT INC | 4 | -$116.56 |
Total: | -$856.13 |
As you can see I stuck to my July 2023 stock considerations pretty closely. I always like to lay out my potential buys each month as it gives me a general road map of stocks I’d like to add. In all, about $850 of fresh capital has been added to my portfolio. These recent buys continue to put me on track towards beating my 2022 dividend income totals. I look forward to seeing what my total dividend income will be towards the end of 2023.
What stocks ave you been buying in July? Please let me know below.

I like your approach to investing Div Hut: dollar-cost averaging all the way. Whether large or small, the name of the game is adding shares and that’s what you seem to be doing. I follow the same approach.
Dividend Portfolio recently posted…Dividend Stocks And ETFs Added To Dividend Portfolio
Hi DP,
DCA takes a lot of the guesswork out when building up a dividend income portfolio. I never went “all in” during my investing tenure rather slowly, monthly, buying small or larger chunks of stock and building up my passive income that way. Sometimes, I buy on the higher end of the market and sometimes on the lower.
