How has your June been going? For me, it is more of the same which simply means making a monthly stock purchase and staying invested no matter how ugly the world economy is looking. As I said in March and April, I don’t have a crystal ball, nor do I pretend to even attempt to understand what is going on in the markets these days as massive sell offs continue followed by strong gains along with other crazy manipulations. I just continue to have a long term outlook, continue to invest, diversify my portfolio even more and just hold on. With that being said let’s take a look at my June stock buys.
I have added to my taxable account 10 shares at $29.42 for a total investment of $294.20 in AT&T Inc. (T). With this recent purchase my taxable account holdings in T now totals 97.1659 shares with a market value of $2,890.20.
I have added to my taxable account 1 share at $198.44 for a total investment of $198.44 in Microsoft Corporation (MSFT). With this recent purchase my taxable account holdings in MSFT now totals 3.0054 shares with a market value of $594.65. I also hold 2.0054 shares in my ROTH account.
I have added to my ROTH account 11 share at $73.09 for a total investment of $803.99 in Starbucks Corporation (SBUX). With this recent purchase my ROTH account holdings in SBUX now totals 18.0364 shares with a market value of $1,320.40.
I have added to my ROTH account 1 share at $363.00 for a total investment of $363.00 in Apple Inc. (AAPL). With this recent purchase my ROTH account holdings in AAPL now totals 7.0161 shares with a market value of $2,529.37. I also hold 6.0161 in my taxable account.
In total I have put $1,659.63 of fresh capital to work in June… a more modest sum than my cash I put to work in May. As you can see, I have opted for several smaller buys rather than deploy my cash in just one or two individual stocks. Again, I have no idea about the immediate future but long term, and with a diversified portfolio, I feel I can weather our current economic storm. Of course, these days it seems that no portfolio is immune from those dreaded dividend cuts but by staying the course and continuing to invest and diversifying greatly mitigates any of the nastiness.
What do you think about my recent stock buys? Are you adding anything in June or accumulating/sitting on cash? Please let me know below.
Disclosure: Long all above
Great series of buys with strong companies! I started some new positions in GPC and EMR this month. Nobody knows were we are heading but it is good to see so many of us still in the game for the long term. Best of luck DH! 🙂
My Dividend Dynasty recently posted…May 2020 Dividend Income
Hi MDD,
I’m still making my buys. Just posted my July buys. Been having site issues for a while now and still is not fully resolved. At least my dividends are more reliable than my blog 🙂
DHut,
Nice work, we share all of those names. Stay safe and keep up the good fight!

Hi DG,
It’s a lot tougher these days but we are all making strides.
Hi DivHut:
I also purchased (added) to my T position. MSFT/AAPL seem over valued for me at the moment but they’re always on my radar should we get a another quick crash.
Hi D4J,
MSFT and AAPL have been on a tear in recent months. Tech long term is not a bad bet.
