Dividend Income Update – April 2014

It’s the beginning of the month which means it’s dividend income update time. One of my favorite times of the month as I get to review my previous month of passive income received from my two dividend income portfolios.

    • Thank you. Keep following the dream of generating your own money machines. At it’s core, all we really need is monthly income to survive. If you never achieve a swollen bank account it just won’t matter as long as you have a monthly income stream, whether from work, rental property, dividends, blog, etc. an income stream is all that we desire (ideally passive 🙂 )

    • Hi DW… Thanks for stopping by. Call me old fashioned and conservative but as you can see from my portfolio I hold a lot or aristocrats and achievers. I would much rather go for lower yield high growth stocks than high yield stocks that are more risky such as some REITS or closed end funds. I’m not against those investment vehicles, I just don’t want them to be a core part of my portfolio.

  1. DH,

    Great job, man.

$175 is some serious passive income.

And you’re a shareholder in a number of companies I’d eventually love to invest in: CB, KMB, KRFT, MDLZ, and DEO.

I hope to join you one day soon. 🙂

    Best wishes.

    • Hi DM,

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your visit to DH. Those companies you mention are all awesome. As you can see I really like consumer sector stocks. MDLZ was a result of a spinoff. I just love spinoffs. A few companies I own were the result of a spinoff. ABT and ABBV, IR and ALLE, KRFT and MDLZ. In fact GE announced a plan to spinoff their financial division and KMB plans one too. Did you know if you owned MO not that long ago you would have stock in 4 companies now. I plan to write a blog post about spinoffs! MO spun off KFT and PM and KFT spun off MDLZ. Just imagine, one purchase in MO would give you MO, PM, KFRT &, MDLZ. The benefits of owing top tier companies! Look forward to your progress DM too.

    • Hi IRF,

Thanks for comment. So far so good. I can’t complain. As all of us here know it’s pretty cool just going through life with your day to day ups and downs knowing that on the side some money is dripping your way.
